In this video, we demonstrate how to create a QQ plot in Microsoft Excel with the help of newly released NumXL 1.58 (BAJA). NumXL is an add-in for Excel that greatly simplifies different calculations used in time series analysis.
Hello and welcome to the NumXL QQ Plot tutorial.
In this video we will demonstrate how to create a histogram with the help of a simple user interface available with version 1.58 of NumXL.
For this example we will be using the daily log returns of the SNP500.
First select an empty cell in your worksheet, then click on the descriptive statistics button in the NumXL tool bar.
Click on the QQ Plot icon.
The function wized pops up.
For input data select your sample values.
The output defaults to the selcted cell in your worksheet.
Once you select your data you can pick the number of quantiles, or the number of points for your QQ plot.
Next click OK.
The QQ plot is in your worksheet, the output table is dynamic, you can make changes by adding new rows and copying the formula down.
