Passing 'True' or 'False' causes function to return an error.
Each time I try to set the argument "optimization" to value True, it returns an error value on every single cell. This happened with TESMTH, LESMTH, SEMSTH and DESMTH functions, how can i fix this?

Yes, I have seen this on non-English excel version. You'd need to use the corresponding locale (e.g. Spanish, German, etc.) word for 'True' and 'False' as defined in Excel for your language.
Alternatively, you can simply type "1" for true and "0" for false.
