Question:
I have just installed NumXL, I launched the MS Excel application, but a security warning appears on the Excel toolbar (see below).
Answer:
If you see this security warning, you have the security settings for add-ins set to high; requiring all add-ins to be signed by a trusted publisher. Furthermore, the security warning also shows that Microsoft Excel recognizes our certificate as valid, but since this is your first add-in from Spider, you have not chosen to trust us yet. Microsoft Excel requires users to explicitly accept the publisher's certificate before it can load the add-in.
To accept the certificate and permit Excel to load the add-in:
Excel 2007
- Click on the "Options" button on the toolbar.
- Microsoft Office security dialog box pops up on the screen. Scroll down to locate the add-in you have just installed. Examine the certificate and select "Enable all code published by this publisher". Click OK.
- You are done! MS Excel will load the add-in and remove the security warning from the toolbar. Please close all open Excel workbooks and restart MS Excel.
Excel XP/2002
- Microsoft Excel pops up a security warning dialog when it tries to load the add-in.
- Check the "trust this publisher" check box and click Next.
- You are done! MS Excel will load the add-in and remove the security warning from the toolbar. Please close all open Excel workbooks and restart MS Excel.
